shade184Hi everyone! Been a long time, eh? A fucking lot has happened but I don't have time to go into detail right now. I kinda just felt like doing a meme. ^_^; Pardon me. I'll do a summary later. Also sorry for reposting this, there was a huge HTML fuckup and it was really frustrating and I just decided to start again with what I had.

What is your favorite song of 4?
Their cover of Chris Cornell's You Know My Name. The original is pretty cool, I guess, but this cover just blows it away.
What kind of impact has 1 left on your life?
Not a massive one, since I only learned about them about six months ago, but I really really like their style. It's shown me that that kind of rock can be pulled off well with those kinds of vocals, which is a big deal to my music theory-loving brain.
What are your favorite lyrics of 5?
Here's the thing, I don't give a damn about lyrics. What I like is the music itself. And hey, Homestuck music doesn't have all that much the way of lyrics anyway. So imma give you some of my favourite parts. :D
Rumble at the Rink. The saxophone solo starting at 1:48. Obviously don't START there, let the song properly lead you up to it. :3 I love when songs go off-melody just a little bit, usually into a minor key.
Infinity Mechanism. The guitar part that starts at 0:35. I love it when particular instruments go off on their own little thing and then the song follows. Not like a solo, more like an intro.
Savior of the Dreaming Dead. I'm putting this one in properly because it is AMAZING. It's based off the Doctor leitmotif, which has shows up throughout Homestuck in many different forms, but this is the most triumphant.
My favourite part is when the rhythm guitar double-times itself and then BOOM jumps back to half-time
and the strings take the lead and then guitar jumps back in at double-time WITH THE STRINGS STILL GOING
and then it goes slightly minimal for a bar but the guitar just boosts it up and then everything drops to quiet for a moment before the drums say hey motherfuckers we're still here while the piano grins at them
then the guitar's like oh yeah time to pick this shit up all together now everybody and then the BELL CHIMES AND YOU'RE LIKE FUCK WE HAVE GOT SOME HEAVY SHIT GOING DOWN
(yeah that is what I hear when I listen to music sorry not sorry)

What is your favorite song by 2?
U&I or Singing. The first is really adorable song of appreciation, and the second is just a cool J-rock song. I can't find a decent playback of the first but here's the second. (No, I have no real understanding of the lyrics; like I said, don't give a fuck about 'em. ^_^)
Is there any song by 3 that makes you sad?

When did you first get into 2?
It would have been... what, 2009? I was still on the Escapist forums a lot, and someone did a thread about good anime music. Their song Don't Say Lazy came up and inspired me to look up the rest of the show, which I am VERY happy I did.
How did you get into 3?
My friend Heather sent me her song Starring Role, which I liked, but because I am a huge dumb it only occurred to me to look up her other music like a year later. Now I'm hooked.
What is your favorite song by 5?
Cascade! Four of the best songs Homestuck has ever produced (including Savior :D), mixed together into one long musical adventure :D
