Moving on.
Apr. 8th, 2010 04:52 amNow here's an interesting development.
I've been looking for work for a very long time, with no luck. But something came up just a couple of hours ago. A good friend brought to my attention a certain farming company that has been hiring recently, and I think this might be just what I need.
Like a lot of places, there's accomodation and meals for the workers, since it's mainly aimed at the backpacker lifestyle (which I could certainly fit into). The work is hard, but I need the exercise. I'll be meeting all kinds of awesome people. And like all farm labour jobs around here, there's always room for more people, and the pay is certainly above average.
But the best part? It's on the Sunshine Coast! That's ages away from where I live! Finally, I shall be working and earning and LIVING away from this hole I am currently rotting away in!
Then, in a few months, I'll be able to move to Brisbane (or somewhere else, if my decision changes) with a decent amount of funds, find a place to live and a decent job, and start living my life properly.
And what the hell. If the pay turns out to be shit, then at least I'll be doing SOMETHING. At least that'll be an improvement on what I'm doing right now.
Maybe you're saying that I'm rushing into this. But think about it. At the moment I am wasting my life doing shit-all. I hate my life right now, and I have two choices: accept it or change it. And there's no way in hell I want to keep accepting it.
If I don't act now, I never will. And what's the worst that could happen? Me ending up back where I am now. There's nothing to lose, and everything to gain. So I shall set forth on this adventure, seeking my fortune in far-off lands.
*cough*
So yeah. I'm inquiring tomorrow, and possibly applying. Wish me luck.
