I have my first uni class tomorrow. I have to get up at 6:30am to catch a lift up to Toowoomba with my dad. Then I have to wait around for an hour and a half 'til my first class starts at 9am. After that, I have to wait around again for a few hours 'til my second class at half twelve. Then it's another long wait 'til my dad finishes work, and I can drive back home with him.
Thank God for mp3 players.

on 2010-03-05 07:11 am (UTC)And I expected to have hours to kill, but I was pleasantly surprised with that too. After wandering around and exploring for half an hour (I arrived early), I made my way to the classroom. There was a half-hour break partway through the class, and another half-hour break after that before the final class for the day. And I left half an hour earlier than I expected to.
This means that each of the classes were over an hour and a half long, but it certainly didn't feel like it.
And we get these ID cards with magnetic strips along the side of 'em. Beside most of the class room doors (especially the computer labs) there are little things you can swipe your ID cards through, and it unlocks the door for you. It feels SO cool.
So yeah, it was pretty good.
